1. To provide screening, assessment, and vision care services according to optometry professional standards for initial diagnosis, correction of visual abnormalities, and appropriate patient referral.
2. To promote eye health, disease prevention, and provide public education to ensure access to quality vision services.
3. To promote and support academic work, research, and innovation in ophthalmology to develop knowledge and improve the quality of services.
4. To serve as a resource for developing the potential and providing practical experience for medical and public health personnel, including optometry students, to support the development of ophthalmology.
5. To promote collaboration with optometry and ophthalmology networks to exchange knowledge, develop professional standards, and improve the quality of services.
